On February 22 in the city of Karakol, a round table and training on the separate collection of solid waste was held for members of the PA «Destination Karakol».
These events were held within the framework of the information campaign of the project «Sustainable Development of Winter Tourism in the Kyrgyz Republic» implemented by Helvetas Kyrgyzstan, with the support of the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The events were attended by representatives of government agencies and the private sector.
The main goal of the round table and training was to convey to the participants the importance and relevance of separate waste collection. Chinara Sultanalieva, a specialist in the implementation of separate waste collection, a certified compost producer, was invited as an expert and trainer. The expert told the participants about the current situation with solid waste in the country, in the Issyk-Kul region and what types of solid waste can be processed in Kyrgyzstan, and which are not. In group work, the participants, together with an expert, sorted solid waste and learned a lot of interesting things in practice.
